This is my second order of the Zealong tea . It is wonderful! THIS IS WHAT TEA SHOULD TASTE LIKE! I will never buy supermarket tea again. The Green Tea is my favorite.
Hi Janey! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review - it made my day! :) I’m thrilled you’re enjoying the Zealong teas, and I completely agree… this is what tea should taste like!
The Green Tea is my favorite too. I drink it every single day - both hot and iced. Not sure if you've ever tried the green tea iced ... it's also SOOO good! My favorite way to prepare it is the overnight cold-brew method. Simply put the normal amount of tea per water (about 1 tsp per 1 cup of water) into luke warm water and place it in the friedg overnight. In the morning you'll have a smooth, refreshing, and natraually sweet green tea.
Thank you again and I’m so glad you’ve found a tea you really love.
One of my favorites!
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on Zealong’s Own Chai! I’m usually a green tea drinker myself, but this winter I’ve been absolutely loving the Chai. The smell, the flavor, and honestly just how beautiful it is - the big pieces of cinnamon, clove, ginger, cardamom, and pepper- it’s such a treat.
My brother drinks it every day and recently taught me how to make a Chai latte with steamed milk, the tea, and just a tiny bit of sweetener (I use Allulose). Oh my goodness … it’s my new dessert!
So glad it’s one of your favorites too. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review!
I liked the chamomile and spearmint sample sent but my order for green tea I made a cup and the infusion bag didn’t color the water at all, it was like drinking hot water with lemon. Why wouldn’t the green tea provide any color or taste??
Hi Pam,
Thank you so much for reaching out, and I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the Chamomile and Ice Breaker sample. I’m sorry to hear that your first cup of the Green tea didn’t taste or look the way it should. Zealong’s green tea has a golden color and a smooth, fresh flavor, so I’d love to help troubleshoot what might have happened.
A few things can affect the taste and color of a green tea, including water temperature, steep time, and sometimes minerals in the water. Green tea is especially sensitive - if the water isn’t hot enough (around 175-185°F), the leaves won’t release their flavor, and the cup can seem very light. A short steep time can cause the same thing.
If you’re open to it, I’d love for you to try one more cup using hotter water and a slightly longer steep (2-3 minutes). It should bring out the tea’s natural golden color and clean flavor.
If it still tastes like plain water, please let me know.
Wonderful tea! We just love Zealong! Best green tea ever, as far as taste and health benefits go! It’s pricey, but worth every penny!
Thank you for such an amaing review, Karen! I'm thrilled to hear you love Zealong and their tea. We know it's premium and do everyting we can to keep the price as accessible as possible, but it does cost more to do things the way Zealong does - from the certfied organic growing, to the regirous testing for purity, and their ISO greenhouse and processing facility. Even Taria is required to be certified organic in order to import their tea. (We are certified by QCS.) It’s an investment, but it’s what ensures the tea remains as clean and pure as you’ve experienced. Grateful that you see all the reasons why and the benefits too!
Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts. It means so much!!!
I use your black tea and green tea to make my husband’s iced tea that he drinks throughout the day. He really likes the taste and he has tried a lot of different teas, so that’s says lot.
Thanks so much for sharing this, Louise! My family also drinks Zealong hot and iced, and we feel the same way - once you get used to how amazing Zealong tastes, it’s hard to go back to other teas. (I have to pack my own tea bag when I travel! Ha!)
I’m thrilled to hear your husband enjoys it, especially since he’s tried so many teas. That means a lot.
Thank you again for taking the time to leave such a kind review, and I hope you both have a wonderful holiday season!
