My treasured cups of this exquisite tea are a huge part of my delight in my day and certainly a reason to get out of bed in the morning. I drink my tea from thin delicate china cups that add to this comforting and satisfying treat in my day.
Kayla!! So fun to read this. :) Thanks so much for taking the time to share your kind words. I love that Zealong is part of your morning ritual. I'm with you - it's one of the first things I do when I wake up ... I really don't feel I can start my day without a cup of Zealong! Thanks again, Kayla. I'm super grateful for your support!
Growing up in South Asia drinking tea is essential and it’s part of my culture drinking tea makes me very happy and brings memory from my childhood. I have always been on search to find a clean organic tea brand and I’m very happy to come across of this wonderful brand.TARIA and I have been customer since last year, black tea and breakfast tea and it simply became my favorites !! I absolutely love the taste and I enjoy every sip every time I brew it it gives me a peace of mind that I’m drinking a quality, organic clean tea. Thank you for introducing me to this wonderful brand 🙏🏼😊
Shekiba, wow ... thank you so much for sharing this with me - it truly touched my heart. 🙏 I love that Zealong's Black Tea and Breakfast Tea have found a place in your story and that they bring back good memories for you. (I love how tastes and smells can do that!)
Your search for a clean, organic tea that you can truly trust is exactly why we wanted to bring Zealong here to the US. Zealong's commitment to growing every leaf on their certified organic estate in New Zealand, with complete transparency from soil to cup, is something I personally fell in love with when we were living in New Zealand. For me, knowing what's in my cup is super important, and I love the peace of mind that comes with drinking Zealong ... I'm so glad to hear that matters to you too!
Thank you for being part of the Taria family since last year, Shekiba - I am truly grateful!
I have spent years looking for the best black tea. I have sampled all sorts of black tea both from online companies and in person i in the US, UK, France, and Ireland. Without hesitation I can say that Zealong’s black tea is my favorite . It is so flavorful, rich and yet light. It is wonderful with milk or without milk. It needs no sweetener . I find myself looking forward to that first morning cup the night before. Yes, it is that good.
Recently, I purchased the breakfast tea. It too is an excellent tea. I still prefer the black tea, but I reach for the breakfast tea when I want to make a chai tea or if I just want a cup with a slightly darker, slightly smoky taste. I don’t like smoky teas but thie smoky flavor is very slight and just adds to the complexity of the tea. I am still experimenting with this tea but I think it will be perfect iced in the summer with a dash of lemon and lavender honey .
I also appreciate the little notes tucked into my orders. They are not necessary but I love reading them. This company cares about its customers and the quality of its products. Rare these days.
Dear Patricia,
Your beautiful review absolutely made my day—thank you so much for taking the time to share it! I don’t even have the words to tell you how much it means to hear that Zealong’s Black tea has become your favorite after all your years of tea tasting across the world. That is the highest compliment we could ever receive!
I also loved reading how you're enjoying the Breakfast tea—it really is a wonderful counterpoint to the Black. A bit bolder, a touch more robust, and with just the slightest hint of smokiness, it’s a blend that offers real depth and character. I’m so glad to you are enjoying it as well!
And thank you, too, for your kind words about the notes we include. It’s such a joy getting to connect with our customers in a small but personal way. Knowing that those little touches are noticed and appreciated is truly encouraging.
We're so grateful to have you as part of the Taria community, and thank you again!
YOU HAVE BEEN OUT OF THE 200G SIZE OF THIS PRODUCT FOR MONTHS? WHY?
Dear Gordon,
You are absolutely right, and we completely understand the frustration. Zealong is harvested by hand just three times a year from a single estate in New Zealand - which is part of what makes it so extraordinary - but it also means supply is genuinely limited in ways that are outside our control. The 200g size across our Origins collection - Green, Black, and the Oolongs - has been one of our most requested, and we hear you.
The wonderful news is that a fresh shipment is arriving mid-July, and I will personally make sure you are one of the first to know the moment it is back in stock.
In the meantime, when it does return, I would love for you to consider subscribing. Subscribers are our first priority when stock is tight, receive 10% off every order automatically, and have access to our safety stock reserve - so you never have to go without. You can set it up directly on any product page at taria.co in about 30 seconds.
I am genuinely sorry for the inconvenience, and I am so glad you love the tea. We are always working closely with the estate to improve supply, and customers like you are exactly why we work so hard to make that happen, so thank you again for reaching out. We will be sure to let you know when the 200g is back in stock!
The Assam is definitely worth trying, as it has a satisfying aroma. The full flavor, however, did not come through to me after two different brewing time experiments. I am accustomed to a stronger version of Assams, some organic, some not. I may try one more brewing time experiment before I make a final decision about yours...
Best regards, John S.
John, thank you so much for this thoughtful and detailed feedback - it is clear you know your tea well!
You have actually put your finger on something important. Zealong's Black Tea is intentionally different from a traditional Assam grown in India- it is naturally smooth and subtly sweet, which is a reflection of the terroir of New Zealand and the way it is processed. If you are accustomed to a bold, robust Assam, it may feel lighter than what you are used to - and that is completely understandable.
If you are looking for a Zealong tea with more strength and depth, we would love for you to try our Zealong's Own Breakfast Tea. It has a fuller, more robust character that tends to resonate beautifully with those who love a strong, traditional black tea.
We so appreciate you giving it multiple tries before making your final call - that thoughtfulness says a lot. Whatever you decide, we are grateful you are here and would love the chance to find your perfect cup.
